After crossing to the Isle of Bute, we visit Mount Stuart, a 19th-century neo-Gothic mansion set in extensive gardens with woodland walks leading to a private beach overlooking the Firth of Clyde. We then explore the scenic coastal route via Colintraive and the Kyles of Bute into Dunoon, with time to enjoy its Victorian pier, promenade, and local cafés before continuing along the Holy Loch and returning to Bute. Another day takes us into the Highlands along Loch Fyne to Inveraray, where we visit the historic town and its Gaol before enjoying a private guided tour of Inveraray Castle, returning to Bute for the final night.

Mount Stuart
After our crossing to the Isle of Bute, we head to Mount Stuart. Entry is included in this 19th-century neo-Gothic mansion with extravagant interiors and over 300 acres of landscaped gardens with a wide selection of native and exotic flora. The woodland walks lead to a private beach with views across the Firth of Clyde.
Dunoon & Holy Loch
This morning, head north along the coastline of Bute to catch the short ferry crossing onto the Scottish mainland at Colintraive. The day continues over the Kyles of Bute, stopping for photos before descending into Dunoon - the maritime gateway to Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. Dunoon is famous for its Victorian Pier and attractive promenade. Relax and explore the town with its shops, galleries & cafes. After lunch, we continue along the shoreline to see the famous Holy Loch, before returning to Colintraive for the short ferry crossing over to the Isle of Bute.
Loch Fyne
A fabulous day awaits as we leave the island and head north into the Highlands, along the shoreline of spectacular Loch Fyne. It is the longest loch in Scotland, 40 miles long. On the shore of Loch Fyne is the ancient town of Inveraray. It is here that thousands of Highlanders were forcefully transported to Australia after the Jacobite risings, and a visit to the Gaol is worthwhile. In the afternoon, we have arranged a private viewing and guided tour of Inveraray Castle, before returning to Bute for your final night's stay.
