Being based in Feldkirch near the Swiss border allows us to take advantage of the rail opportunities in the nearby Swiss Cantons. Our tour highlights include the well known Rhaetic Railway and the old-fashioned Wälderbähnle through the Bregenzerwald region.

Day 1
Following the short sea crossing we continue to our overnight bed and breakfast accommodation
Day 2
Continue the journey to Feldkirch. This evening enjoy a welcome drink at the hotel
Day 3
We begin the day with a ride on the Pfänder cable car for a magnificent panorama of Lake Constance. We continue through the Walser Valley via St. Gerold, Damüls and Schoppernau to Bezau where we board the nostalgic Wälderbähnle private train to Schwarzenberg.
Day 4
We travel to Rapperswil where we board the Voralpen-Express to Lucerne. Straddling the River Reuss is the must see iconic wooden covered Chapel Bridge. Explore one of the best preserved medieval old towns in Switzerland with beautifully decorated buildings with colourful frescos and look for the crying lions, the most moving piece of stone in the world.
Day 5
We drive to Chur, the oldest city in Switzerland where we board our reserved compartment on the Rhaetic Railway. Relax and enjoy the scenery as the train winds its way deep into the magnificent mountains to the ski resort of Arosa.
Day 6
We travel to the Rheineck on Lake Constance where we board the rack railway to Walzenhausen. We continue to the Appenzell region famous for their cheese making and alpine beers. The village of Appenzellis famous for its wooden painted houses. We continue via the old city of St. Gallen to Bregenz where we take the cable car to the top of the Pfander.
Day 7
We depart our hotel and travel to our overnight bed and breakfast accommodation.
Day 8
Continue our journey to Calais and complete the journey home.
