Ripon & Thirsk
Ripon and Thirsk are two charming market towns in North Yorkshire, each with its own distinct character. Ripon is known for its stunning 7th-century cathedral, historical architecture, and the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey. Later we head to Thirsk, a traditional market town, is famous for its connections to the vet and author James Herriot.
Skipton
The market town of Skipton is well worth a visit when travelling to Yorkshire. The Leeds, Liverpool canal runs through the town plus the iconic 900 year old Skipton Castle is a popular attraction for visitors. A short drive from Skipton we visit Grassington, with a cobbled market square that's home to a number of small independent shops and boutiques, this pretty town sits within the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and has become a popular TV & film location for many period dramas.
