Strathspey Railway

Take a short journey to the Highland Folk Museum, Britain’s first open-air museum, home to fascinating collections that capture life in Scotland from the 1700s to the mid-1900s. Afterwards, enjoy free time exploring Aviemore before boarding the Strathspey Railway. This heritage line, set in the heart of the Highlands, offers a scenic ride in vintage carriages pulled by beautifully restored locomotives, surrounded by spectacular Highland landscapes. 

Kyle Line

Step aboard what Michael Palin called “one of the most beautiful rail journeys in Europe.” Travel from Dingwall to Kyle, where your coach awaits for a short transfer to the Isle of Skye, allowing time to take in its breathtaking sights. Your return journey to the hotel takes you by coach through the stunning landscapes of the Highlands.

West Highland Line

Often hailed as the greatest railway journey in the world, this 46-mile route is famed for its stunning scenery and its starring role in the Harry Potter films. Travel past lochs, mountains, the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, and views of the Isles of Eigg, Muck, and Rum. Enjoy free time and lunch in the charming fishing town of Mallaig before returning by coach along a different scenic route. Stop at Glenfinnan to see Bonnie Prince Charlie’s monument and the impressive viaduct, then continue to Neptune’s Staircase in Banavie, an impressive series of eight lock gates on the Caledonian Canal.
