Irelands Ancient East

Day 1

Our journey begins as we leave Wales and cross the Irish Sea to Rosslare. From here, we travel to the Riverside Park Hotel, where our welcoming hotel awaits.

Day 2

Spend the day exploring Ireland’s oldest city, Waterford. A highlight of the day is a visit to the Waterford Treasures Museum, where you’ll discover fascinating insights into the city’s Viking and medieval heritage. Return to the hotel for a hearty dinner and a restful evening.

Day 3

Day 3 Immerse yourself in Ireland’s maritime history on the Titanic Trail, a captivating guided tour that brings the stories of this iconic ship to life. Later, we visit the renowned Middleton Distillery, home of Jameson Whiskey, for an engaging tour and tasting session. Return to our hotel to enjoy dinner and unwind at your leisure.

Day 4

Day 4 Today we travel to the County Wicklow and Step back in time at Glendalough, the "valley of two lakes," famous for its ancient monastic settlement founded by St. Kevin. Explore the visitor centre to uncover the fascinating history of this sacred site, then take a stroll around the serene lakes and ancient ruins that make this area so enchanting. Next, we visit the breath taking Mount Usher Gardens, one of Ireland’s most beautiful and tranquil gardens. Designed in the Robinsonian style, the gardens feature a harmonious blend of winding pathways, colourful plantings, and the soothing sound of the River Vartry. Take time to wander at your own pace and perhaps enjoy a treat at the charming on-site café.

Day 5

Day 5 Today, we journey to the medieval city of Kilkenny, where cobbled streets and historic charm await. Explore the magnificent Kilkenny Castle on a guided tour, marvelling at its rich history and elegant interiors. After soaking in the city’s atmosphere, we return to our hotel in Waterford for a farewell dinner.

Day 6

Day 6 Following breakfast, we begin our return journey to Rosslare, where we catch the ferry back to Wales.
