Day 1

Begin your journey with a short Channel crossing, followed by travel to the Lisieux area in Normandy for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Head west across the scenic French countryside to the vibrant Atlantic coast, arriving in the charming port city of La Rochelle, where you'll settle in for a four-night stay.

Day 3

Enjoy a full day at leisure in historic La Rochelle. Discover its rich maritime heritage as you stroll through the atmospheric old port, explore the grand cathedral, and take time to relax at the many waterside cafés and fascinating museums.

Day 4

Set off on a scenic excursion south to the Château de la Roche-Courbon, a fairytale castle complete with elegant gardens and centuries of history. Continue to Saintes, a beautiful town renowned for its Roman architecture, including an amphitheatre and triumphal arch. End the day with a visit to Cognac, where a guided distillery tour and tasting introduce you to the region's world-famous spirit.

Day 5

Travel to Fouras-les-Bains and enjoy a scenic one-hour cruise to the dramatic Fort Boyard, a sea fortress with a fascinating past—as a military structure, a prison, and a famous TV filming location. Afterwards, explore the elegant town of Rochefort, steeped in naval history. Highlights include the Corderie Royale, where ropes were made for the French navy for over 300 years, and a range of maritime museums.

Day 6

Say farewell to La Rochelle and return to Normandy for a final overnight stay in the Lisieux area, with dinner included.

Day 7

Travel to Calais for your homeward Channel crossing, bringing your French adventure to a close.
